On 9 March, Hong Kong Baptist University and Beijing Normal University sign an agreement to establish UIC in Zhuhai, the first full-scale cooperation in higher education between Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

2005年10月

On 21 October, UIC starts the first academic year with an enrolment of 274 students.

2005年11月

On 18 November, the Inauguration and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony is held. Construction of the campus at the Jinfeng Road begins.

2007年09月

UIC’s Accounting Programme is accredited by CPA Australia.

2008年01月

On 15 January, UIC launches teaching and administrative facilities of the Jinfeng Road campus at the campus inauguration ceremony. The college logo is unveiled with the UIC Council’s approval.

2009年06月

UIC holds the first graduating commemoration ceremony for 244 graduates.

2010年11月

The Learning Resource Centre opens officially in the Student Hostels and Cultural Village at the Jinfeng Road campus.

2011年11月

The Shadow Puppet Drama Pavilion is unveiled in the Student Hostels and Cultural Village at the Jinfeng Road campus.

At its fourth Graduation Ceremony, UIC confers the first Honorary Fellowships on four prominent individuals, who were distinguished contributors to the mission of UIC for their sustained commitment to the development of education and society.

UIC develops a Comprehensive Evaluation System based on the National College Entrance Examination for student recruitment in Guangdong Province.

The Centre for Social Management Research and Services is launched at UIC.

2014年04月

The UIC Orchestra is invited to perform in Poland in honour of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and China.

On 20 June, the Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government and UIC Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony and UIC New Campus Ground-breaking Ceremony are held.

About 1300 Year One students move to the Hui Xian Village (previously known as New Cultural Village) of the new campus at the Jintong Road.

2015年12月

On 12 December, UIC announces its motto and anthem. The college motto is "In knowledge and in deeds, unto the whole person."

2016年12月

The Institute for Communication Studies of Chinese Culture at UIC is established.

2017年06月

On 16 June, the 9th Graduation Ceremony and Honorary Fellowship Conferment takes place at the University Hall on the new campus for the first time.

On 9 December, UIC celebrates the New Campus Inauguration and launches the Graduate School and more facilities.

2018年05月

On 23 May, the New Campus Carnival is held to celebrate the opening of many new facilities, including the new Learning Resource Centre, the new Staff and Student Activities Centre, the Maker Centre and more.

UIC launches the Sports Park, giving staff and students a new outdoor athletic facility.

On 30 June, Zhuhai Municipal People's Government and UIC sign a cooperation agreement, granting UIC another plot of land of approximately 367,000 square metres to build its second-phase campus.

On 23 May, UIC holds the second-phase campus groundbreaking ceremony.

2022年05月

UIC completes the roof construction of the residence halls at its second-phase campus, marking a milestone at a topping-out ceremony on 20 May.

2022年12月

UIC unveils the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Research and Application for Data Science on 13 December.

UIC is approved to offer two postdoctoral programmes, Mathematics and Statistics in October 2023 and then unveils them on 14 December 2023. UIC becomes the first and only university in Zhuhai to establish postdoctoral programmes.

UIC unveils its Institute for Advanced Study on 15 April.

2024年09月

The "1+1+1" joint seed fund pool was launched in September. Each will contribute annually from 2024 to 2026, including the Ministry of Science and Technology and UIC and HKBU. The cumulative seed fund will be approximately RMB 90 million.

UIC unveiled the UIC Boston Center in Januray. The Center is home to the Institute of Life and Art, the Whitehead Research Center, and the UIC Alumni Association of America.

UIC began celebrating its 20th anniversary on 9 March.

On 14 April, the School of AI and Liberal Arts was established, dedicated to cultivating new-age talent with both technical AI skills and liberal arts literacy.

On 18 November, BNBU celebrated its 20th anniversary. The activities included: the 20th Anniversary Development Ceremony, a Roundtable Forum with laureates of the Nobel Prize, Turing Award, Fields Medal and Member of Academy, and more.
